Scraplights
Turning an overlooked material into something warm, useful, and enduring.
Scraplights began with a simple idea: take something as ordinary as discarded cardboard and see how far it could go. Working with recycled corrugated board, we developed a family of sculptural lights built from precision-cut layers, assembled by hand to create an unexpectedly rich, warm glow.
What began as a material experiment grew into one of Graypants’ defining collections, produced in Seattle and Amsterdam and distributed around the world. I helped shape Scraplights from early design and development through photography, packaging, exhibitions, production, and the larger story around the collection.
It remains a good example of how I like to work: start with one clear idea, then carry it thoughtfully through product, story, production, and experience.
